Privacy policy
How BiteVibes handles your personal data when you browse, rate, comment on, or publish recipes.

What we collect
- Account data when you sign in with Google or Apple: your name, email address and profile photo.
- Contact details you enter yourself: email address and phone number with country code, so we can reach you if your recipe becomes popular and is rewarded.
- Content you submit: recipes, photos, ratings and comments.
- Technical data: anonymous page views per recipe, plus your saved language and unit preferences in your browser.
Why we use it
- To show your recipes with your name as author, and to review them before publishing.
- To prevent duplicate ratings and abusive comments.
- To contact you about your submissions or a reward.
- To understand which recipes are popular so we can improve the site.
What stays private
- Email addresses and phone numbers are never shown publicly. Comments show only the name you choose and the text you write.
- We do not sell your data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Storage and processors
- Data is stored in our managed database and file storage with access rules that limit each account to its own data.
- Sign-in is handled by Google and Apple. AI assistance for drafting and translating recipes is processed by our AI provider; recipe text you submit for AI help is sent to that provider.
How long we keep it
- Account and contact data are kept while your account exists. Published recipes stay on the site as long as they are published.
- Anonymous view statistics are kept in aggregated form.
Your rights
- You can see and correct your details on your account page at any time.
- You can ask us to delete your account, your contact details and your submissions, or ask for a copy of your data. You can also object to how we use it, and complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies and local storage
- We use a sign-in session cookie that is necessary for the site to work, and your browser's local storage to remember your language, unit system and the name you use for comments. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
